InsertAnnotation
The New Annotation command enables you to add a new annotation to the model. The command can also be started from the context menu displayed by right-clicking in the Annotation Tree Panel.
You will have to specify the point in the model which the Annotation will be anchored to: the Point of Interest. Before actually specifying the point, you can choose whether to indicate a Snap point or a point on a face of a solid (Point on face).
In the Insert drop-down list you can select the type of the Annotation to be created.
To order and classify annotations, using the Category drop-down list you can define categories which the annotations will be assigned to. You can always choose to assign a new annotation to an existing category or to create a new category and assign the annotation to the latter.
To simplify the search operations using the Filter box on top of the Annotation Tree Panel, you can define as many keywords as you like, by typing them, separated by a comma, in the Keywords box.
Note When an annotation is referenced to an external file (i.e.: it is of the From File type), the program stores the entire path name, including the drive letter identifying the disk drive (for example, C:\ProgramFiles\AssociatedDocuments\XYZ.doc). If your system is connected to a network, you should refer to the specific network drive using the following syntax: \\machine_name\disk_name\path_name rather than using a syntax that uses virtual disk drives (such as J:\path_name). If you use virtual disk drives, when a drawing file is opened on a computer other than the one on which it was created, the program won't be able to find the external file if the virtual disk drives defined on the two computers don't correspond. In addition, verify that the Keep absolute file path check box is selected on the Assembly/Shared Group category of System Options. If this check box is not selected, the program stores the file path in a relative form, in which case it may not be valid for all the computers on the network. |
