Annotations and Visual Bookmarks

The major goal of Annotations is to provide alternatives for using 2D mechanical drawings. Annotations enable you to seed the 3D model with information (metadata) that would normally be added to a 2D drawing of the 3D model.

Now once you have inserted the metadata (manufacturing, machining, design review) in you 3D model, you might wish to create a Visual Bookmark which will store which annotations, components, layers, were displayed and the orientation in which helps convey the information effectively.

Other users may search for these Visual Bookmarks and activate them to reveal a 3D Drawing View. By using Visual Bookmarks with annotations the designer can easily convey what words and a static picture cannot always describe.

While adding or saving a bookmark, the user may choose the annotation option from the advanced node in the selection list. This will save and restore the annotations visibility status and their screen positions.
