Sweep a Solid by Selecting the Edge of the Surface as the Driving Curve
The command enables you to sweep a feature by snapping the edge of the surface as the drive curve and by using the Surface based option from the Motion Mode drop-down list, as shown in the image below.
To obtain the above result, you need to open the Surface_based.e3 file available in the samples folder of your installation folder and follow the steps given below.
- Start the command to display the selection list.
- Next, select the Surface based option from the Motion Mode drop-down list and you will be prompted to select the spine (drive curve) for path transition. Select the edge of the surface as the drive curve for the Spine selector, as shown in the image below.

- Now, click on the Boundaries selector in the selection list and select the profiles from the Graphic Area, as shown in the image below. To hide the warnings you can choose the (
) button from the selection list.

to confirm your selections and create the sweep feature, as shown in the image below.

to discard your changes.
