The Material tab is available in the Rendering Library palette. The Material tab displays the material library with predefined set of standard materials. All the materials are categorized and saved in an appropriate folder. By exploring the folders you can browse through the various materials in it and see their preview in the preview pane.
In the material tab, different materials are available in the predefined folders. The preview of the materials is seen in the preview pane of the material tab.
The following are the four method of applying a material.
Once a material is attached, it is displayed in the Rendering structure under the Materials node.
The applied material can be edited to your requirement using the Edit Material selection list. While editing the material, you can customize the visual properties like Texture Color, Reflectance, Transparency and Bumps. The Edit Material list can be started in two ways:
The following Visual Properties can be edited on the material applied.
Texture Color | Enables you to edit the color and texture of the material applied. |
Reflectance | Enables you to edit the reflectance which is the amount of incident light being reflected from the material surface. |
Transparency | Enables you to edit the transparency which is the amount of light transmitted throught the material surface. |
Bumps | Enables you to edit the smoothness of the material surface. |
And also: |
|
Texture Mapping |
Only available with textured materials, to edit the mapping of the texture. It will be applied to all entities attached to the edited material, except those with their own texture space (See Texture Space command). |
Density | The density of the material applied can be defined under the physical properties. The unit of the density is set gm/cm³. |
