The Section Analysis command under Analysis enables you to analyze the properties of existing sections or sections derived from surfaces in the 3D model.
When analyzing existing sections, the following data can be obtained:
- Coordinates of the analysis point in the Work Plane
- Coordinates of the analysis point in the global reference system
- Coordinates of the center of gravity in the Work Plane
- Coordinates of the center of gravity in the global reference
system
- Values in the Work Plane reference system:
- section area
- outer perimeter of the section
- total perimeter of islands, if any
- maximum dimension along the x-axis
- maximum dimension along the y-axis
- static moment relative to the x-axis (Mx)
- static moment relative to the y-axis (My)
- polar moment
- polar ray
- radius of rotation about x-axis
- radius of rotation about y-axis
- moment of inertia relative to x-axis (Jxx)
- moment of inertia relative to y-axis (Jyy)
- product of inertia (Jxy)
- Values in the center of gravity reference system:
- moment of inertia relative to x in center of mass coordinate
system (Jxg)
- moment of inertia relative to y in center of mass coordinate
system (Jyg)
- product of inertia in center of mass coordinate system (Jxyg)
- highest moment of inertia
- lowest moment of inertia
- angle of principal axes
- distance of cutting plane from analysis point
