Compensator Workflow for Measured Data
For making compensation or adaptation using Measured Data, the workflow is the following:
- The inputs for the process are the Initial Mesh (from CAD model) and the Measured Mesh (from scanned data). It is necessary to first adjust the relative positioning of the two mesh to allign them. This is required as both mesh entities may not have been defined in the same coordinates system. This step is achieved using the Pre-Alignment and Optimize Alignment commands.
- Once aligned, the Identify Measured Data (for compensation) or Adapt on Measured Data command (for adaptation) will be used to find the correspondence between initial and target mesh and to compute the transformation corresponding to the compensation/adaptation process. The result is a small GSM surface, which contains the computed transformation.
- This transformation surface can then be used by the GSM Replicate command to apply the modification on the initial mesh. In case of 'Adaptation', the modified initial mesh will fit the measured one, while in case of 'Compensation', it will correspond to the proposed geometry to be used as the compensated one.
- Additional tools (like Blank-Holder Addendum and Part command) can be used to update the environment of the compensated/adapted part.
