Ordinate
The Ordinate Dimension command creates reference dimensions using a reference point.
Depending on the necessity, you are enabled to choose from the Type drop-down list the dimensioning type as Linear or Angular. The Linear dimension gives you the distances measured from the Origin, whereas the Angular dimension gives the angles subtended.
To begin with the Ordinate Dimension command, you have to first choose the Origin, which acts as the reference point for the successive dimensions to be created. Once the origin has been selected, the Edit Reference option appears in the selection list under More Options. This option helps you to modify the reference axes, so that the dimensions created before will be aligned with respect to the new reference axes. Selecting the Aligned check box, you are enabled to align all the dimensions with the reference axes.
