Modify Curve Split

The Split Curve command can be used to split curves in one of three different methods, to be selected in the Mode drop-down list.

First select the curves to be split (the Curves item in the selection list will turn to green) and then end selection by right-clicking and selecting Continue in the context menu.

In the Mode drop-down list, select the splitting method:

Points — to split one or more selected curves at the points you specify by clicking or using the Snap tools.
Boundaries — to split one or more selected curves at their intersections with other curves or surfaces (planes, ruled surfaces or NURBS) selected as boundaries. Please note that using the Extend curves option (under More Options) you can decide whether to split the curves also at its virtual intersections or only at is actual intersections with the boundaries.
Arc Joints — to split a selected curve at its arc joints (about arc joints in a NURBS curve, see "An Overview On Curves").

The Associative Mode check box enables you to create curves which retain a link to the surfaces/curves they derive from.

	When the check box is selected, the resulting curves will be associative. The new curve will retain a link to the entities it derives from. A specific node displaying both the original entities and the resulting associative curve will be added to the Model Structure.
	When the check box is cleared, the resulting curves will not be associative.

Applying the command to entities belonging to groups
The command can be applied to entities belonging to groups by using the Select inside Groups command.
