Insert Curve Join

The Join Curve command enables you to create a single curve from a set of consecutive curves. The command enables you to select also associative curves.
The resulting curve is a NURBS.

First select the curves to be joined (the Curves item in the selection list will turn to green) and then end selection by right-clicking and selecting Continue in the context menu.

When one or more of the curves to be joined are not NURBS, the command automatically converts them to NURBS entities and displays an appropriate warning in the preview (if you click the warnings button  ), so that you can decide whether to go on (thus actually converting it to a NURBS in the end) or to remove them from the selection before going on.

Several options are available in order to improve the shape of the resulting curve, in order to ensure the downstream shape quality is preserved.

The Associative Mode check box is also available, enabling you to control the link between the original curves and the resulting one.

When using the command in non-associative mode ( Associative Mode box not checked), you You can specify what to do with the original curves. In the Base Entities drop-down list, select one of the following:

Delete To remove the original curves from the model drawing. Only the resulting joined curve will be available.
Hide To hide the original curves, though keeping them in the model drawing.
Keep To keep the original curves, leaving them visible.
Note
Please note that the Delete option does not apply to associative curves. An appropriate warning is displayed in such cases.

By using the Curve Curvature command, you can also display a plot of the curvature or of the radius of curvature.

An effective way of selecting consecutive curves is to perform selection by using the Select Chain operator. Curves that are not consecutive cannot be joined.
