Creating a Rotational Slot
The command creates a cutout in a solid by revolving a profile or chain of curves about an axis of revolution.
- On starting the command, you are prompted to select a profile or curves. Select the profile or the chain of curves you want to revolve. To reselect the profile, click on Profile in the selection list and select the profile again.
- Under Axis, choose the method used to define the axis of revolution by selecting either
Line or
2 points, and then specify the axis of revolution.
- If the selected profile is connected to the solid (such as when the profile is drawn using the
Work Plane on Face or Datum Plane command), the solid is automatically selected. If the solid was not automatically selected, select the
Solid from which material will be removed.
- In the Angle mini-dialog, specify the number of degrees through which you want to revolve the selected profile or curves or click and drag the handle to interactively set the required depth.
- If necessary, click More Options to specify additional options.
- Use the Thickness mini-dialog to create a shelled solid or drag the handle to set the required thickness.
- To add fillets or chamfers to the slot, click the Fillet/Chamfer button.
- Click
