Creating thick sheet metal features

Open the TSMF.e3 file from the samples folder of installation and follow the steps given below.

  1. Start the Linear Slot command. Click Profile and select the following profile.



  2. Click Face and select the following face.



  3. Click or to confirm your selections and create the linear slot.



    Click to discard your changes.

  4. Start the Edge Chamfer command. Click the side face edge.



  5. For Distance, enter 5 mm.

  6. Click or to confirm your selections and create the chamfer edge along the side face.



    Click to discard your changes.

  7. Start the Hole command. Click Face and select the base.



  8. Right-click Point and click Reset. Select the circle and snap to the mid point.



  9. Click or to confirm your selections and create a shaped hole feature on the skin face.



    Click to discard your changes.

  10. Start the Hole command. Click Face and select the base.



  11. Right-click Point and click Reset. Select the circle and snap to the mid point. For Diameter, enter 5 mm.



  12. Click or to confirm your selections and create a shaped hole feature on the skin face.



    Click to discard your changes.

  13. Start the Generic Slot command. Click Boundaries and select the profile.



  14. Click Spine and select the profile.



  15. Click Solid and select the solid.



  16. Click or to confirm your selections and create the slot along the entire side edge.



    Click to discard your changes.

  17. Start the Unbend command. Click Fixed Face/Edge and select as shown.



  18. For Type, select Global.

  19. Click or to confirm your selections and unbend the solid.



    Click to discard your changes.
