Cube
The Cube command enables you to create a cube: a box with equal-length edges.
Obtaining a parametric solid or a set of surfaces The final result of the command can be either the set of six surfaces composing the cube or a unique parametric solid cube. The Associative Mode check box enables you to control the result:
|
To start the creation, you will have to specify a point to be used for the placement of the cube.
The positioning method can be chosen in the Point drop-down list:
Base center | The point you specify will be the center of the cube base. |
Base vertex | The point you specify will be one vertex of the cube base. |
Center of mass | The point you specify will be the center of mass of the cube. |
When the placement point is specified, a set of handles is displayed. At any time during the creation of the cube, you can:
Line | to align the axis to a line. Select the line. |
2 points | to align the axis to the direction identified by the two points. Select the two points. |
End point | to align the axis so that its second endpoint coincides with a point. Select the point. |
Finally, you will have to define the length of the cube edge. You can either type the value into the corresponding Length mini-dialog box, or define it interactively by dragging the corresponding handle.
A dynamic preview of the cube is displayed since the very moment you specify the placement point, so as to enable you to immediately assess the result of your actions.
