To accomplish this task load file "cut_solid.e3".
The Cut Solid command cuts a solid using any surface already existing in the model.
| 1 | On starting the command, you are prompted to select a solid. Select the solid as shown. To reselect the solid, click on Solid in the selection list and select the solid again. |
| 2 | For Cutting Surface, select as shown. To reselect the surface, click on Cutting Surface in the selection list and select the surface again. |
| 3 | As soon as you select the Cutting Surface, an arrow is displayed extending from the cutting surface (indicating the direction from which material will be removed from the solid). Select the arrow as shown. To change the side of the solid from which material will be removed, double-click on the arrow or right-click and select Invert Cut Side. |
| 4 | Click  or  to confirm your selections and cut the solid. Click  to discard your changes. |
