Work PlaneOn Face
The Work Plane on Face or Datum Plane command moves the Work Plane onto a selected face of a solid or over a Datum Plane.
On starting the command, you are prompted to select a face or a datum plane. As soon as you make your selection, the program immediately moves the Work Plane onto the selected face or plane, with the origin coincident with its center.
| Note Once it has been set onto a face or datum plane, the Work Plane is related to it. This means that all entities created on the Work Plane will also be related to the face or datum plane. To remove this associativity, use the Unlink command. |
If the Work Plane is related to an entity, the lock symbol (
) is displayed on the origin of the Work Plane itself (and of the Cartesian axes):
