The Snap point Type of the Smart Dimension command creates a linear dimension measuring the distance between two special points. You can specify the Orientation as one of the following:
- Distance — parallel to the line through the two points
- Horizontal — parallel to the X-axis
- Vertical — parallel to the Y-axis
- Projected — projected at a specified angle
- Automatic — Along the direction identified by the two endpoints of the entity or parallel to either the X-axis or Y-axis
