The Check Mating command provides a global mating status for all the entities from the current working area. The commands also shows the kinematic chains and the rigid/flexible components.
The result will be grouped by status:
- Fixed: Entities which are fixed by the user (with the fix command) or by design (result of patterns),
- Fixed by a pattern: Entities which are fixed because they are resulting from a pattern feature,
- Well defined: Entities with no degree of freedom,
- Under defined: Entities with at least a degree of freedom,
- Over defined: Entities with no degree of freedom and positioned by too many constraints which may cause the system to fail,
- Not consistent: Entities positioned with conflicting or contradicting constraints,
- Free: Entities not positioned with Mating.
The Check Mating command also displays the number of entities and constraints available in the current working area.
Under More Option the command provides the following:
- Kinematic chains: The set of entities linked together by mating constraints,
- Flexible entities: Sub components of the current working area which have mating constraints and set as Flexible by the user,
- Rigid entities: Sub components of the current working area which have mating constraints and set as Rigid by the user.
By enabling the check box related to one of the types above the following menu appears
to navigate back and forth in order to highlight the corresponding entity,
to zoom on the corresponding entity,
to isolate the corresponding entity if this one is hidden below other components.
