Checking continuity data

When using the Surface Continuity command, in order to check the quality of the resulting surfaces, you can select Check Continuity under More Options. The following data will be displayed:

Max. distance is the distance between the furthest points on the two near boundaries of the two surfaces.
Mean distance is the mean square distance between the two near boundaries.
Max. angle of tangs with common dir. is the largest angle made by the tangents to the two surfaces along the two near boundaries.
Max. normal angle is the largest angle made by the normals to the surfaces.
Mean normal angle is the mean angle made by the normals.
Max. curvature difference % is the maximum difference between the curvature values of the surfaces along the two near boundaries
Min. curvature difference % is the minimum difference between the curvature values of the surfaces along the two near boundaries.
Mean max. curvature difference % is the mean maximum curvature difference value, which can be very useful in a number of situations, for example when, though the maximum difference might be very small, the average value might be considerable.
