Creating a rotational sweep solid

The Rotational Solid command creates a solid by sweeping a profile or chain of curves about an axis of revolution.

1 On starting the command, you are prompted to select a profile or curves. Select the profile or the chain of curves you want to revolve, and then end selection. To reselect the profile, click on Profile in the selection list and select the profile again.

2 Under Axis, choose the method used to define the axis of revolution by selecting either Line or 2 points, and then specify the axis of revolution.

3 In the Angle mini-dialog, specify the number of degrees through which you want to revolve the selected profile or curves

click and drag the handle to interactively set the required depth.

4 If necessary, click More Options to specify additional options.

  • Use the Thickness mini-dialog to create a shelled solid
    or
  • drag the handle to set the required thickness.
5 Click or to confirm your selections and create the solid. Click to discard your changes.
