Splitting solid and faces from solids

In the following example you will use the Split Faces command to split the faces of a selected solid at their intersections with a set of other solids. To accomplish the task, load file "SplitFaces.e3".

1 Start the Split Faces command and for Solid A select the cuboid.

  • To change the solid, you can right-click on the solid, select Reset and select a different solid.
  • To reset the current selection, you can right-click on the graphics area and select Reset current selection.
  • 2 For Split with option, you can do the following:

    a. Select Solids B from the list and select the cylinder.

    b. Select Curves from the list and select the profile.

    3 Click or to confirm your selections and create the solid.

    If you have selected a., you can view the following solid:



    If you have selected b., you can view the following solid:



    You can notice that only the faces of the solid is split but not the full solid.

    Click to discard your changes.
