Move and edit dimensions without starting the commands

You can also edit individual components of a dimension without actually starting the Move and Modify commands.
 

• You can drag the dimension text to reposition it along the dimension line.
  
  
  
  To move the dimension text:
  1. Click on the dimension text.
  2. Hold down the mouse button and drag the text.
  3. Release the mouse button to drop the text in the desired new position.
• If you move the text outside the dimension line, a leader is automatically added.
  
  
   
• You can interactively change the length of witness lines.
  
  
  
  To change the length of witness lines:
  1. Click on the witness line. (Note that it's best to click near the end of the witness line closest to the dimension line.)
  2. Hold down the mouse button and drag the witness line.
  3. Release the mouse button to drop the witness line in the desired new position.
