1 | When you start the Hermite Spline Curve command, you are prompted to enter a point. Specify each of the points you want to interpolate by clicking on the position or by using Snap. |
2 | After you specify each point, the Tangent dialog box is displayed. Click the button corresponding to the method you want to use to specify the tangent direction at that point:![]() |
Enter Components In the Components dialog box, specify the tangent vector components relative to the active reference system in the dx/du, and dy/du and dz/du boxes and click OK to confirm. |
|
Existing curve
Select the curve whose tangent direction you want to assign to the Hermite spline. An arrow indicating the tangent direction is displayed. Click Yes to accept the tangent direction, or No to use the opposite tangent direction. |
|
3 | When you are finished specifying the interpolation points, end input. |
4 | The H spline dialog box is displayed. In the Stretch factor box, type the stretch factor value, and then click OK.
High stretch factors accentuate the curvature of the spline; low values to make the spline less curved. Tip
To make it easier to decide the shape of the interpolating curve, start with a stretch factor of 1 and then change the value as required. |
5 | If you confirm the stretch factor, a preview of the curve will be displayed. Click Yes to confirm or No to display the H spline dialog box again, so as to supply a different stretch factor.![]() |
