Ignore threads during Collision detection

In the Collision detection mode, you can choose to ignore threads when computing the collision between parts.
You can enable/disable the Ignore threaded surfaces option in the Options/Properties dialog box.

A simple illustration of a Plate with threaded hole and a threaded Screw is shown below.

Checking the Ignore threaded surfaces option and setting the Feedback mode to Highlight colliding faces, you will be able to move the Screw inside the hole of the plate. The movement is free as the threaded faces are ignored for collision.

Unchecking the Ignore threaded surfaces option, you will be able to view the colliding faces highlighted as you move the Screw into the hole.

The information you gather here is dynamic and on the fly.

Suppose the parameter Stop on collision is set for Feedback, you will be able to move the Screw only upto the start face of the thread on the plate. The thread faces are identified for collision and the movement is stopped once it is found.
