When using the Surface Continuity command, in order to check the quality of the resulting surfaces, you can select Check Continuity under More Options. The following data will be displayed:
Max. distance | is the distance between the furthest points on the two near boundaries of the two surfaces. |
Mean distance | is the mean square distance between the two near boundaries. |
Max. angle of tangs with common dir. | is the largest angle made by the tangents to the two surfaces along the two near boundaries. |
Max. normal angle | is the largest angle made by the normals to the surfaces. |
Mean normal angle | is the mean angle made by the normals. |
Max. curvature difference % | is the maximum difference between the curvature values of the surfaces along the two near boundaries |
Min. curvature difference % | is the minimum difference between the curvature values of the surfaces along the two near boundaries. |
Mean max. curvature difference % | is the mean maximum curvature difference value, which can be very useful in a number of situations, for example when, though the maximum difference might be very small, the average value might be considerable. |
